All cottages are perfectly located to explore all parts of Snowdonia and North Wales
Ty Cerrig Cottage and Ty Cerrig Barn are near to the town of Corwen (which is about fifteen minutes from Llangollen) whereas Gwynfryn is further along the A5, in Cerrigydrudion, fifteen minutes from Betws-Y-Coed (be sure to visit the magnificent Swallow Falls waterfall!). Both places are 20-30 minutes from Snowdon itself.
The Brenig and Alwen reservoirs are only a few miles away. The Brenig is popular for water sports, fishing, cycling, walking and bird watching. There is also a cafe and excellent adventure playground. Bala lake is 10 miles away and is also very popular for water sports.
Even though we are situated at the edge of Snowdonia National Park, we are also less than 20 miles from the coast. Llandudno, a Victorian seaside resort is a mere 45-50 minute drive away and is well worth a visit.
The towns of Ruthin, Denbigh, Llangollen and Bala are all within a short drive and all have their own interesting features. Castle lovers have Conwy, Harlech, Beaumaris, Criccieth, Caernarfon, Chirk and Penrhy. All are within a short distance.
If you have teens in tow, a trip to Zip World at Bethesda and Blaenau Ffestiniog should be high on the agenda. Stretching 1 mile long, the 500ft-high thrill ride is cited as Europe's longest zip line, and is also the fastest in the world. And if that isn't enough, there's the National White Water Centre at Bala, and Surf Snowdonia https://www.adventureparcsnowdonia.com/ the UK's only artificial inland surfing lagoon.
